In a fibre cutter comprising a cutting blade 4 movable past one end 1 of a tow-guide to co-operate with a fixed blade (formed by surfaces 2 and 7) and sever a projecting length from a two releasably secured (for each successive length) by a clamp 3, the surface 2 (or at least a part thereof) at the one end is inclined at an acute angle to the direction of the cutting movement of blade 4. It is stated, and illustrated in Figs. 3 and 4 (not shown) that the guide arrangement ensures uniformity in the cut lengths and reduces wear on blade 4.
